Evgeny (Eugene) Solomatin received his Master of Social Work degree in 2019 from the University of Calgary with a focus on clinical work. In 2024, he received the Registered Clinical Social Worker designation with the Alberta College of Social
Workers. Eugene has over 4 years of experience in the mental health therapy field, working with children 9 years and older, adolescents, and families impacted by trauma, mental health, and relationship issues. His experience includes working with individuals affected by anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-harm and suicidality, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, reactive attachment disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Eugene works with an attachment and strengths-based approach, recognizing that each individual has inner strengths and potential that can enrich their lives and the lives of others. Human relationships, especially those with our families, help us grow and learn in the world, and Eugene understands the value of such relationships and the need to nurture and heal them to improve our individual and family wellbeing.
Eugene offers play and sand tray therapy to help children and adults with issues such as grief and loss, relationship repair, and various traumas. Eugene also offers Emotion- Focused Therapy to individuals and families affected by strained relationships, communication issues, and emotional concerns. Eugene offers therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, and art therapy.
Outside of work, Eugene enjoys writing fiction, table top games, and painting miniatures.
